we ranged a' from tweed to spey,
an' liv'd like lords an' dies gay;
for a lnd face he feared none,—

but ere the bud was oree,
adown my cheeks the pearls ran,
embrag my john highndman.

but, och! they catch'd him at the st,
and bound him in a dungeon fast:
my curse upon them every one,
